Welcome to the archives of the William J. Clinton Presidential Library, a part of the Presidential Library System of the National Archives & Records Administration. The National Archives is the U.S. Government’s collection of documents that records important events in American history. The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is the Government agency that preserves and maintains these materials and makes them available for research. The Clinton Presidential Library archives preserves, protects and provides access to presidential records created by President Bill Clinton and his staff in the course of performing official duties. The archives at the Clinton Presidential Library comprises approximately 78 million pages of official records, 20 million emails, 2.6 million photographs, 12,400 videotapes, and 12,000 audio cassettes documenting the life and career of the 42nd president of the United States. Finding aids are located on our digital library. Digitized Records Clinton presidential records that have been digitized may be accessed on the National Archives Catalog (NAC). The NAC contains descriptions for NARA's nationwide holdings. Audio/Visual (AV) Collections The audio/visual archive at the Clinton Presidential Library and Museum contains over 2.6 million photographs, 12,400 videos, and 12,000 audio cassettes. Clinton Family Biographies President Bill Clinton was born on August 19, 1942, in Hope, Arkansas. He married Hillary Rodham Clinton in small ceremony on October 11, 1975, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Bill and Hillary Clinton's only child, Chelsea Clinton was born February 27, 1980. Bill Clinton served as the Governor of Arkansas from 1979-1981, and again from 1983-1992. Gubernatorial Records The Clinton Presidential Library and Museum has very limited records from President Clinton's tenure as Governor of Arkansas, however this collaborative portal provides opportunities to research the political career of Bill Clinton and provide insights into the trajectory of President Clinton’s work on issues central to both his time in Arkansas and in the White House.
